Wouldn’t life be easier if we could remain calm and peaceful, even during difficult times?  Well, it is possible to build up your ability to live in a state of equanimity if you have some discipline and faith in the process. Going forward we will be sharing a variety holistic health tips to help you stay contented and productive at work and home.  Today we share 3 small tips to get you started.  Try these ideas as let us know your thoughts!  We would love to hear from you.

  1. Try the Pomodoro Technique.  This time management technique creates order out of your workload.   Pomodoro uses a timer to break your work projects down into 20 minute work intervals. The technique teaches 6 steps to take for each project. This process will set you up for order and success. Following this technique can help you to feel more control over your workload and foster a sense of calm in your life.  To learn more about Pomodoro watch this film on the Pomodoro Technique.
  2. Set Your Intention for Each Day.
When you arrive in the morning, set your intention to stay grounded and focused for the day.  Affirm your ability to get through your day with equanimity & poise.  Then, take 2 minutes to sit quietly before beginning any work. Notice how this feels to you. You may need to recreate this calm state again and again at various times during the day, but as long as you keep coming back to it you are on the right track!
  3. Feeling Negative? Re-Frame Your Perspective. Often, all it takes is a shift in perspective to see a situation with fresh eyes. If you are feeling overwhelmed, see if you can reframe the situation as if you were an encouraging parent.  Try seeing things from a viewpoint that anything can be handled much more productively when attended to from a positive viewpoint.  This reframing is much easier than you would think. When you feel negative, try this practice and see if you begin to feel stronger and more able to face difficult situations.

These are just 3 tips to help you stay calm and clear at work. If you commit to these practices on a regular basis you will be surprised at how they will help you feel and think better.
